Tomb Raider Director Simon West has told Empire Online that he has produced a special and altered version of his recently released blockbuster for the DVD version. In line with the trend of repurposing material, for different commercial platforms, the DVD will include scenes that were dropped from the original and certain other scenes have been reedited.
Despite the revelation, the director denied that the DVD version amounted to a director's cut. "People are horrified that it's not quite the same as it was in the theatre, but I actually quite like the idea of having two or three different versions of the film."
