Our Word is Our Bond
After rumours flew across the Internet this week about the latest Bond film - now entering pre-production - producers Eon Productions say the leaked Bond script is fantasy. Website Bond20.com claimed the new film would see Bond reunited with his father, battle against an evil Internet tycoon called Saten, 'fight to the death' atop the Statue of Liberty and in some way get involved in England and the World Cup.

The website claims Bond, to be played again by Pierce Brosnan, will discover his father was also a secret agent with the number 007. Other sites claim this would be played by Sean Connery. He did not die, as was thought, in a climbing accident with his mother but may still be alive.

The site also claims Bond will battle an enemy called David Saten, who plans to use the internet against the free world. Saten, to be played by Nigel Havers, is abducting or murdering British, American and Interpol secret agents. The female villain would be a kickboxer called Divine Rapture.

The website also claim Bond will die in the film when he is entombed in a tank of ice cold water. But he is brought back to life with a drug by a Japanese enemy called Mr Shoka. The website says the main action sequences will take place in the French Alps, Tokyo, Sydney and New York.

The producers of the James Bond movies have dismissed the claims as pure fantasy. "It's fabricated. We have spoken to the producers about it and I'm afraid it's a fan who's done a James Bond script -- it's not ours," a spokeswoman for Eon Productions told Reuters Wednesday. She added: "the film hasn't got a name yet. It's only in the very beginning of preproduction."
