In the wake of the September 11 tragedy video rentals soared as the public sought shelter from constant news coverage of the disaster.
Blockbuster Video saw an increase in sales as early as the afternoon of the disaster and, ironically, the most rented titles were those involving terrorist plots like Under Siege. The increases have been seen most in New York and Washington (obviously) but the same has been reported throughout the United States and Europe.
With the usual flock of amateur seers slinking about cyberspace relating Nostradamus' predictions (and often shaping them to reflect what has occurred) there has been high demand for Robert Guenette's Nostradamus pic The Man Who Saw Tomorrow, presented and narrated by Orson Welles.
