Indie King for Indie Intermedia?
Screen Daily reported on Friday that representatives from Intermedia are talking to Graham King about a possible bid for the indie renegade's Initial Entertainment Group - IEG.

Intermedia, the indie giant made public on the German stock exchange last year, are always on the look out for bold indie companies like IEG and King could profit from the partnership by becoming an autonomous Intermedia label.

If the deal goes through, IEG (recently backed Ali and Gangs of New York) would be stable mates with the likes of Scott Free Productions, Mark Johnson Productions and Outlaw Productions.

IEG is 49%-owned by troubled German distributor Splendid Film, although it has financed its films principally through its credit lines with Chase Manhattan Bank.

The incentive for King would be the access to newly created funds Intermedia would offer King and IEG access to new funds to finance development and production funds.

As the partnership goss flitted about London Screenings this week, King was ready to announce another Scorsese/Di Caprio flick - an epic Alexander the Great tale.
