Success Shorty: Silver Turns to Gold
Brian Percival's About a Girl, shot by a Manchester crew and starring 14 year old newcomer Ashley Thewlis (also from Manchester), picked up two awards announced at Kino Film Fest's grand finale on Sunday evening.

The film, produced by Janey De Nordwall and written by Julie Rutterford, won the Granada Award for Best North West Short Film and the City Life Best Short Film Award. This after scooping the Best Short prize from the Official Short Selection at Raindance.

The runner up for this award was the film Jump directed by Simon Fellows was also produced by Janey De Nordwall. About a Girl will now receive a screening on Granada TV.
