British polymath C S Lewis' seven book Narnia series is ripe for plucking in the eye of the whirlwind of literary adaptations. The treatment of the author's popular works will be will be overseen by Douglas Gresham, Lewis's stepson, and The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe is being tipped, by industry site Screen Daily as the first to be made into a movie. First published in 1950 the classic tells of a group of adventurous kids who step through a magic wardrobe into a Narnia, a world of ice under the maniacal rule of the White Witch. New York based Walden Media has acquired the rights to the books. |
