Northern
writers have draw praise from a European screenwriting
course tutor Jan Fleisher following the success
of SOURCES held in Newcastle 12 months ago.
Fleisher says "For some reason you have all these
great writers coming out of this region there
are much better writers here than in London."
Northern Production Fund is now in negotiation with
the Media 2 European screenwriters course SOURCES,
to return to the North in 2002/3.
Northern Production Fund successfully hosted SOURCES
in March 2000 with 16 regional writers and producers
and participants from Wales and the Netherlands.
Visiting lectures were held by Peter Flannery (Our
Friends In The North) and Ken Loach.
Follow up sessions for SOURCES were held in Newcastle
and Cardiff and SOURCES gave special awards to Rachel
Matthews and Duane Hopkins for further development
of their screenplays.
