Soldiers Relocate To Luxembourg
The
Northmen feature Dog Soldiers, backed by Northern
Production Fund, has relocated to Luxembourg, Shepperton
Studios and Scotland.
The
horror movie is exec-produced by Noel Gay Films (Hellraiser)
and concerns a group of soldiers on a training exercise
who are attacked by werewolves.
The
£3m feature was originally to be shot in Canada,
but has been relocated to Luxembourg to take advantage
of an investment fund and tax breaks.
Six
Scotfilms On FilmFour BritWeek
No
fewer than six films produced in Scotland feature in
FilmFours British Film Week and two of them are
TV premieres.
The
films are My Name Is Joe, Orphans, Shallow Grave,
Trainspotting and the TV premieres of FilmFour-funded
titles are The Debt Collector, (starring Billy
Connolly) and Gregorys Two Girls, starring
John Gordon Sinclair.
Graham
Norton & TVYP
Comedian
and television presenter Graham Norton is to be the
first ever patron of the Guardian Edinburgh TV Festival's
education initiative, Television and Young People (TVYP),
which launched its 2001 scheme at the beginning of March.
Funded
by sponsorship, TVYP is the education programme of the
Guardian Edinburgh International Television Festival
giving young people a stepping-stone into the television
industry in front of and behind the camera. Every August
Bank Holiday, 150 18-21 year olds are chosen through
an application process to take part in 5 days of masterclasses,
workshops and careers surgeries.
Applications
for TVYP 2001 are now being taken on line and through
forms distributed at colleges, universities and at Scottish

is 27 April 2001 and this years event takes place between
23-27 August 2001.
