Scotlands greatest living export, Sir Sean Connery,
has been hard at work across the Atlantic this week promoting
Scotland to the United States during Tartan Week. This
is the annual event where Scotland pushes hard at the
US market and tries to encourage holiday makers to make
Scotland a vacation destination for them.
Meanwhile in another prestigious Tartan Week event, the
IMAX film Legend Of The Loch, premieres at the
Sony Lowes Navy Pier Imax Cinema in Chicago. This is a
new print to be distributed by SK Films, sponsored by
Scottish Tourist Board and Scottish Screen.
Legend Of The Loch is set on Loch Lomond and tells
the mythical story of the song "Ill Take The
High Road".
John Archer, Chief Executive of Scottish Screen explains;
"Scottish Screen were involved with Legend Of
The Loch from its earliest days and it is thrilling
to see what a spectacular film it is and to enjoy the
audience reaction to it. We are pleased to be able to
support the striking of another print of this film, which
I know will encourage many people overseas to visit Scotland
and see for themselves what a beautiful country this is.
We work very closely with the Scottish Tourist Board and
this is another example of the type of joint venture the
film and tourist industry can undertake."
