Moonstone
have announced a presence at Cannes this year
from the 14th to the 18th
of May and are inviting those with scripts close
to completion to pay them a visit.
A
Moonstone spokesmans says, "If you have
a project which you feel would benefit from
Moonstone we would be happy to meet with you
to discuss what we do. We can be contacted through
the Scottish Screen stand or prior to the Festival
at the Moonstone office."
If
you would like to take advantage of the experience
and skills of established and respected writers,
you may be interested in the Moonstone International
Labs for screenwriters and directors.
The Labs offer constructive advice in an intimate
environment where the writer or filmmaker can
experiment and take risks with their ideas.
Your project will get one-on-one attention,
as well as ample opportunities for group discussions.
Oscar-nominated writers such as Callie Khouri
(Thelma & Louise), Walter Bernstein (The
Front), Jeremy Pikser (Bulworth), and Trevor
Griffiths (Reds) have participated in the Screenwriters'
Labs. The Filmmakers' Labs have benefited from
the presence of directors such as Michael Hoffman
(Midsummer Night's Dream), Michael Ritchie (The
Candidate), John Irvin (Hamburger Hill), Michael
Lehmann (The Truth About Cats and Dogs) and
Joan Darling (M*A*S*H).
Moonstone International was founded in 1997
in consultation with the Sundance Institute,
the organisation created by Robert Redford in
North America to support and develop the work
of independent screenwriters and directors of
vision.
