Northern Production Fund in association with
the Film Council New Cinema Fund invite applications
for the digital short scheme STINGERS. Over
the next year we will produce eight short digital
films. The aim of the scheme is to identify
new and emerging talent who want to tell stories
through the unique opportunities of digital
filmmaking.
NPF will be looking for filmmakers who demonstrate
the ability to create original, innovative,
personal short films. Each production will have
a budget of £6K (excluding production fees)
and we are looking to commission shorts of 3-5
minutes in length for proposed television and
website broadcast.
Scriptwriters
NPF welcomes scripts (maximum 5 pages) or treatments
in the areas of drama, animation and creative
documentaries. Applicants should also include
a one-page statement on their visual approach
to making the short. Each commissioned scriptwriter/filmmaker
will work with an experienced script editor
through one to one surgeries.
Deadline for applications is 28th January 2002.

Production Companies
NPF invites applications from companies interested
in producing the STINGERS shorts. Northern Production
Fund
& New Cinema Fund will choose two companies
to deliver the eight short films. Production
fee for the production of four shorts is £10K.
Applicants should include a statement on how
they will manage the production of four digital
shorts within the prescribed budget. Application
deadline is 14th January 2002.
