Oscar winning Scottish writer and director,
Peter Capaldi, will premiere his latest film
Strictly Sinatra in Glasgow this
month.
Stars of the movie, like Brian Cox, Ian Hart,
Kelly Macdonald and Alun Armstrong are expected
to join Peter for the event.
Wonderful Film Life
A graduate of Glasgow School of Art, Peter's
early film experience was as an actor with appearances
in hit films like Local Hero and
Dangerous Liaisons. His highly
inventive short film - Franz Kafka's Its
a Wonderful Life - won him an Oscar
and now he is making his directorial feature
film debut with Strictly Sinatra.
It's a tale of a rather naive young Scots-Italian
nightclub singer, Tony Cocozza (Ian Hart) who
falls in with a group of notorious mobsters.
Dazzled by tales of the gang's former Las Vegas
lifestyle, in the 'glamour' of a local casino
he meets Irene (Kelly Macdonald) a cigarette
girl with a feisty charm. The two hit it off,
but complications ensue when Tony ends up doing
favours for the mob in the hope that his new
found friends will help him achieve his dream
of stardom.

Times Maggie Centre Appeal, will be screened
