Denzel Eyes Leeds Filmmaker Script

Owen Carey Jones, currently moving his debut feature Baby Blues from the London Screenings to MIFED in Milan, has been boosted by the news Denzel Washington is looking at his latest project.

Admitting that Baby Blues wasn't cinematic enough to get a theatrical release, Owen told Netribution that his next project will be both more commercial and visually arresting. Adapted from an unpublished novel, his as yet untitled follow-up film - a romantic thriller - follows a gang feeding synthetic diamonds into the distribution market, bypassing De Beers.

Washington is looking at the part of an investigator employed to uncover the gang. The film is set 30% in the UK and 70% in France, opening the door to co-production financing. Owen is understandably excited by the developments, telling us 'if he does come on board everything else will fall into place'.
