Develop smart, inspiring and innovative marketing and distribution strategies for feature films.
The Media Business School (MBS) is delighted to announce the launch of calls for applications to participate in the 2012 edition of MD – Marketing & Distribution. Geared to experienced film industry professionals, MD is an intensive, project based programme focusing on the marketing and distribution of feature films, with digital media embedded as a cross-cutting theme throughout the course.
The five-day course will take place in Ronda (Spain) from 10th to 14th July 2012 and it is designed and delivered by leading European and US marketing and distribution professionals, from both the independent and studio distribution sector.
MD consists of a series of seminars, tutorials/consulting, case studies and a screening focusing on: feature film - multi-platform strategies; digital driven marketing strategies; devising international distribution, festival and markets strategies; publicity and promotions; digital exhibition and distribution; new business models and new markets, and a case study of a recent film demonstrating an innovative marketing strategy.
The course is addressed to up to 25 film executives with experience in production, marketing, distribution, acquisitions, sales or exhibition of feature films, as well as marketing executives from other fields who want to move into the film industry.
As well as gaining a detailed insight into the processes involved in preparing the distribution of a feature film, the selected group of participants will have the opportunity to significantly extend their professional network of contacts both with the other participants and attending experts, all key players in the entertainment industry.
The MBS delivers the course with the support of the MEDIA programme of the European Union, the Spanish Ministry of Culture, the Andalusian Autonomous Government, the City Council of Ronda and the Skillset Film Skills Fund as part of A Bigger Future 2.
