Bleak House Up For Eight Craft BAFTAs

The drama series received nominations for costume design, editing (fiction/entertainment), make-up and hair design, photography and lighting (fiction/entertainment), production design, sound (fiction/entertainment) and director.
Andrew Davies, who adapted the novel, was nominated in the new category of writer, alongside Russell T Davies for Doctor Who, Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant for Extras and Peter Kosminsky for The Government Inspector.
Other BBC dramas also performed well. To the Ends of the Earth picked up five nominations, Doctor Who four. Casanova and Rome received three nominations each. Channel 4's Elizabeth I picked up four nominations, including costume design and production design.
NEW BREAKTHROUGHS

Special Award this year will go to production designer Eileen Diss, who has worked on Longitude, Jeeves and Wooster and Up the Junction.
