Leeds Film Festival adds extra screenings to meet demand

Giving in to popular demand, Leeds Film Festival is giving some of the favourites of the festival a second screening on the 12 November. Films including Japanese animation Paprikia, and Czech comedy favourite Wrong Side Up  will screen at the Leeds City Art Gallery or Vue at the Light Screen 5. 

12 noon Notes on Marie Menken + Shorts (Leeds City Art Gallery, £4.50/£3.50)
Fascinating portrait of one of America's most influential avant-garde filmmakers and a selection of her incredible films.

1.30pm Paprika (Vue at the the Light, £6/£4.50)
Mindblowing Japanese animation, an incredible, unmissable cinema experience.

2.30pm Our Daily Bread (Leeds City Art Gallery, £4.50/£3.50)
An astounding documentary which reveals the terrible truth about the large scale food industry.

3.15pm Wrong Side Up (Vue at the the Light, £6/£4.50)
The favourite comedy of the Film Festival, a feelgood delight from the Czech Republic

4.15pm Blood Tea and Red String (Leeds City Art Gallery, £4.50/£3.50)
Acclaimed gothic fairytale, a bewitching stop-motion animation masterpiece.

5.15pm Them (Vue at the the Light, £6/£4.50)
The Fanomenon Surprise film from last Sunday, no longer a surprise of course but it's a real shocker - don't miss this brilliant French horror that does for houses what The Ring did for TV sets.

5.30pm Monks: The Transatlantic Feedback (Leeds City Art Gallery, £4.50/£3.50)
Fascinating documentary that reunites the five members of proto-punk band The Monks, US marines stationed in Germany in the early 60s who billed themselves as the anti-Beatles and are still cutting edge 40 years later.

6.45pm London To Brighton (Vue at the the Light, £6/£4.50)
Searing and almost unbearably tense British thriller that has stunned Film Festival audiences.

7.30pm Loudquietloud: A Film About The Pixies (Leeds City Art Gallery, £4.50/£3.50)
All three screenings of this documentary about The Pixies' reunion tour sold out, so get your tickets now before this one does too!

8.30pm Executive Koala (Vue at the the Light, £6/£4.50)
A very funny and strangely moving story of a Japanese businessman who happens to be a koala bear.
