THE ALIEN INVASION Digital Launch is a 21st century film distribution platform that will involve the free distribution and screening of Singapore's 1st and only Golden Horse Awards (The Chinese Oscar) nominated short film on all available major digital mediums, by capitalizing on the available technological infrastructure and proliferation of digital devices worldwide.
The added challenge is to accomplish all these with free and open source means available to every film maker, programmer, and designer.
We believe that a consolidated, dedicated digital launch of this scale has not been attempted before in the world, and we hope to see if audiences are ready for such mobile entertainment, and whether it will indeed prove to be a sustainable avenue for movie/TV companies.
About The Alien Invasion
"The Alien Invasion" by Richmanclub Studios, a feature film production company committed to 21st century film processes, is an over-the-top satirical action comedy featuring over 80 real-life students and professors saving the world, on the day aliens decided to invade Asia…or Singapore instead of their favorite U.S.A.
It is Singapore's first film of its genre, and in a few month's time, the creators' wildest dreams came true when it became Singapore's first and only nominee for "Best International Digital Short Film" in the 2004 Golden Horse Awards in Taipei (also known as the Chinese Oscars).
Its new approach in production values and techniques with its resultant picture has caused famed Film festival programmer of Rotterdam, Gertjan Zuilhof, to comment, "...A catchy genre parody on the phenomenon of big-budget action film...Low-budget acquired a new meaning..."
After premiering around the world, the studio is experimenting in offering the film free for a worldwide audience through all 21st century new media possibilities besides the traditional screens.
